Everest High Pass Trek

Everest High Pass Trek is a difficult but a popular trekking destination in the Everest trekking which is almost a boon for the adventure seekers as it takes the trekkers to the high passes of the Everest region. Cho-La Pass and Renjo-La Pass are the two most popular and famous high passes in the region of Everest. Everest High Pass Trek takes you to the twin passes during the course of which the trekkers will have the chance to view the panoramic view of the amazing mountains including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, among others. Everest High Pass Trek is a challenging trek to the two major high passes of the Everest Region--Renjo La and Cho La Pass. Therefore, Everest High Pass Trek (Renjo La and Cho La) is an ideal itinerary package for those who wish to experience both adventure as well as natural sightseeing, including the mountains, in the Khumbu region.
Everest High Pass Trek is a 21-day itinerary package which begins with an amazing mountain flight, through the mountains, to the Tenzing Hillary Airport at Lukla from Kathmandu. Alternatively also known as Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla Airport is one of the dangerous Airports in the world because of its altitude, location and the uneven topography. Lukla is the starting point of the Everest Panorama Trek just like some other treks in the Everest region. From Lukla, your trek starts as you head towards the village of Phakding before reaching the popular village town of Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is a business and trade hub for both Nepali and Tibetan traders. The Buddhist Gompa (monastery) in Tengboche and the Sherpa villages along the way are some of the highlights of Everest High Pass Trek.
The busy market of Namche Bazaar, the Valleys and Sherpa settlement areas, several monasteries which you come across during the course of trek, the amazing views of Mountains including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, etc. are some of the highlights of the trek. Walking through the Gokyo Valley and Khumbu glacier, enjoying the views from the Everest Base Camp are some of the important aspects of Everest High Pass Trek.

Day 01–Arrival in Kathmandu
Our representatives will be there at the Airport to receive and welcome you upon your arrival at the International Airport of Kathmandu. You will then be transferred to the hotel where you will be briefed in short about the itinerary package. The rest of the time, you will be spending at the hotel.

Day 02–Fly to Lukla, Trek to Phakding
After having breakfast in the morning, you will take 30 minutes of scenic flight from Kathmandu, through the mountains to the Tenzing- Hilary Airport at Lukla. Though the Airport is considered as one of the most dangerous airports in the world, flight to Lukla will be full of adventure and thrill. The real trekking then starts from Lukla when you start hiking from Lukla to the nearby village of Phakding. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Phakding.

Day 03–Trek to Namche Bazaar
The trail continues along the Dudh Koshi River before climbing up the way through Himalayan Pine and Deodar Cedar forests to make it to Namche Bazaar, the business and trading hub of Everest Region. Namche used to be and still is a crucial place for trade between the traders of Tibet and Nepal. Items like salt, dried meat and other consumable goods have been sold and bought in Namche over the years. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Namche.

Day 04– Rest day in Namche Bazaar
The fourth day is set aside for acclimatization in Namche as acclimatizing to the changing altitude and the environmental condition is very important during Everest trekking. A day of acclimatization and rest will prepare your body well for the upcoming challenge in the trekking. Trekking experts suggest to continue having mild walk rather than to stop completing in the name of rest. We will have casual walk through the busy market area of Namche and then talk with the local Sherpa people of Namche. If you feel like exploring more, you can even pay a brief visit to the Khumjung Village which offers one of the best views of Everest and other mountains.

Day 05- Trek to Tengboche
After a day of acclimatization in Namche, we resume our trek and walk through the trail, enjoying the views of mountain peaks like Thamserku, Kantega and Kusum Kangru. After a gentle descend, the trail then rises uphill before you come across the stone gate built by Lamas that acts as the gateway to Tengboche. Located at 3860m altitude, Tengboche allows the best sunset views of Everest.

Day 06–Trek to Dingboche:
Enjoying the scenic views of Lobuche peak, Ama Dablam, Nuptse and other peaks, we will move forward along several scattered villages lined with chortens and Mani Walls to the village of Pangboche. Entering the Imja Valley, we will lower down the hill to Lobuche River prior to escalating uphill to Dingboche where we will be staying overnight.

Day 07–Rest Day in Dingboche:
The next day you will be acclimatizing to the high altitude and the changing environmental condition. Acclimatization is very important when it comes to high altitude trekking in Nepal. Mild walking is preferred than lying idle during acclimatization. The problem of high altitude sickness is a common problem faced by the trekkers during trekking in the Everest region. Side trip to Chhukung can be arranged which takes 3-4 hours from Dingboche. Enjoying the glaciers and snow shrouded peaks, we will return back to Dingboche.

Day 08- Trek to Lobuche:
Walking along the trail through the Khumbu Khola Valley, we will cross the bridge over the stream to Dugla with views of Thamserku, Nuptse and other mountains. Crossing the boulders from Khumbu Glacier we will move forth Chupki Lhara whence the trail descends through the glacier to Lobuche that allows the exquisite views of Nuptse, Pumori, Khumbutse and several other mountains.

Day 09- Trek to Everest Base Camp and Gorak Shep:
Moving along the rocky path with mesmerizing views of the pool of Khumbu glacier and icebergs, we will cross Thangma Riju and advance through Changri Glacier to Gorak Shep which then eventually leads us to the Everest Base Camp. Later we will walk down the trail back to Gorak Shep where we will be staying in a camp.

Day 10- Trek to Kalapatthar, Return to Lobuche:
This day of trekking will lead us to Kala Patthar which is a popular region in the Everest best known for its sunset and sunrise view, and also the view of the Mount Everest. Kalapatthar gained worldwide popularity after former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal held a cabinet meeting at Kalapatthar to draw world’s concerns towards the problem of climate change. Indulging in the serene beauty of Everest and several other Mountains, we will make a return trip back to Gorak Shep and then all the way down to Lobuche where we will be staying overnight.

Day 11- Trek to Dzongla:
The next day, we will resume our trek from Lobuche further pursuing down the trail. We will then briefly climb uphill to make our way towards Dzongla where we will enjoy the finest views of Lobuche, Lobuche West, Cholatse, among other mountains.

Day 12- Cross Cho La Pass, Descend to Thagnag Kharka
Moving along the rocky terrain, we will enter the valley before moving down the steep slope and chasing the icy path all the way to Cho La Pass. Lowering down the stone paved path, we will arrive at Phedi prior to heading towards ridge that stretches further to Thagnag Kharka.

Day 13- Trek to Gokyo:
The trail on this day advances forth the path of glacier that opens up to a lake which then further takes us through the easy trail along Dudh Koshi River to Gokyo located adjoining the third lake where we will be staying overnight.

Day 14– Trek to Gokyo Ri, Back to Gokyo:
An early morning walk will lead us to Gokyo Ri located at 5300 meters of altitude above the sea level. From Gokyo Ri, you will be blessed with the magnificent views of four mountains-- Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu and Lhotse. After enjoying the mountain views, we will then descend back to Gokyo where we will be staying overnight.

Day 15- Cross Renjo La Pass, Trek to Langden in Thame Valley:
Walking past the boulders, we will arrive at Renjo La Pass from where we will enjoy the enthralling views of mountains, Gokyo Valley and glacier prior to lowering down to the secluded northern lands to Langden in Thame Valley where we will be spending night in a wilderness camp.

Day 16- Trek to Thame:
Continuing down from Langden, we will pass through few Sherpa settlements to alluring highland village of Thame. Amusing in the fascinating spectacle of Thamserku, Kantenga and Kusum Kangguru Mountains, time permitting, we will visit its popular Monastery before staying overnight in a camp.

Day 17- Trek to Namche Bazaar:
It is going to be an easy trek this day as the trekking trail progresses through the plain land lowering down to Thamo. Stopping by the Khari Gompa, we will head further towards Namche Bazaar where we will be staying in a hotel.

Day 18- Trek to Lukla:
Seven hours of downhill trek will be enough to take us to Lukla where we will be staying overnight in a hotel as we prepare ourselves to board a flight back to Kathmandu the next day.

Day 19- Flight to Kathmandu:
On the 19th day of the itinerary, you will take the flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla. From the Airport, you will then head towards the hotel. The free time can be utilized by visiting the alleys of Thamel to buy some souvenirs and gifts to your loved ones back home. My friend and I had never been to Nepal, we decided to go on a spur of the moment decision with no expectations. We ended up meeting Prakash from Osho at the airport in Kathmandu and from there we arranged some activities including a scenic flight to Everest and of course trekking! Our experience trekking was incredible, the highlight of our trip. Our guides Ram and Prakash were wonderful and the local Nepalese people in the Annapurna region are amazing. The Poon Hill trek is highly recommended! Thanks to Osho for everything, I highly recommend Dinesh and Co. Our only regret is not staying in Nepal for longer. I'll be back again!

I was initially somewhat nervous about what my adventure would entail, but in the trusty hands of my wonderful guide Prakash Khanal, my only challenges each day were the hills and what meals to order! A sign of a great trek is one you'll never forget, a sign of a great guide is one that you'll miss. A truly fabulous experience all round.

In Kathmandu there is so many tour operators and there is really hard to chose good one. There is few reason I would really like to recommend Osho Vision Treks: 1) We got really good prize. Mr. Prakash met us on our arrival in airport and was really helpful and trustworthy. We compare his prize with several other tour operators and he really give us the best one. Here is contact on him (pl.oshovision@gmail.com - +9779851013032) 2) Owner of the office Mr. Dinesh is really great guy. He is busy businessman but really helpful. We trusted him with our passports and China visa and he manage to pick it up for us very safely. In the end of our stay he even invited us for a dinner. Really great guy! 3) Best of all was our guide Udaye. We chose him based on other great reviews here and we was definitely not disappointed. He is young and smart guide with sense of humor and great knowledge about Nepal and mountain. Take him specially if you are planning to visit Manaslu region. He was born here and knows everything about it.

Osho Vision has a superbly professional team and I was looked after way beyond my expectations by Kedar Mani Khanal. Every little detail from hotel and flight bookings to professional guides was faultless. All of this was delivered with personal service and a smile. I will never need to go anywhere else for any sight seeing, mountain trekking or any of the other things I choose to do. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making my first trip to Nepal such an effortless pleasure! Paula Mayura.

Just fantastic.Osho vision made my dream of Treking in the Himalayas come true. The company were professional and my guide Kapil KC was nothing short of fantastic. He was kind, considerate and clever.I enjoyed his company and he was the guide I always used.I ended up doing four treks with the company over 10 weeks including Everest and the Annapurna trek.It is fair to say that this is a reflection of how highly I rated the company and my guide.I apologise for the delay in posting this .However I am still in contact with Kapil as we remain friends. He still works for the company and as do many individuals.I am confident that their standards will still remain the same.Avoid cheaper companies. You do not want to be stuck on a trek in the world's highest mountains with a dodgy company!!Some are.

“Beyond expectations” W e organised our 3 week adventure around Nepal with Dineash from Osho Vision Treks. In our initial meeting he listened to our requests & designed a tour according to our wishes. Our trip included a comfortable Scorpio car, a proficient courteous driver (Dipak) sightseeing around Kathmandu & the Kathmandu Valley, a 2 day rafting trip on the Trishuli river, Pokhara, a soft 2 day trek in the foothills of the Annapurnas, Lumbini, a 3 night 4 day package in the Royal Chitwan National Park, Nagarkot, Dhuulikhel and back to Kathmandu. Our trip included all hotels & breakfasts & full board when rafting & at Chitwan. Most of our accommodation was excellent. Dipak was a great driver, always on time & an extremely safe driver. Dineash rang everyday to check all was well on our trip. We had an absolutely fantastic time in Nepal thanks to Dineash & his team. I would highly recommend his services to one & all.
