Langtang Valley Trek with Ganja La Pass

Langtang Valley is one of the important and popular trekking destinations in Nepal which is located towards the north of Kathmandu Valley. Langtang is the third most popular trekking destination in the country after the Annapurna and Everest region. Amongst the several trekking itineraries in Langtang, Langtang Valley Ganja La Pass Trek is one of the popular trekking destinations in the entire Langtang valley. Langtang Valley is quite full of natural beauty and the mountains including the Mount Langtang, Ganesh Himal, among other mountains. The trekkers will have great opportunity to explore the region of Langtang as well as experience the thrill of trekking and adventure in Nepal. Ganja La Pass located at 5200 meters of altitude is one of the challenging as well as high points of the trekking. It is one of the most challenging passes of Nepal amongst the visiting tourists.
Langtang Valley Ganja La Pass Trek is 14-days trekking package with the Trekkings in Nepal which begins with around seven hours of picturesque drive through curved roads and bends of Prithvi Highway to the town of Syabru Besi. It will be a wonderful drive and you will enjoy the view of the natural scenery while on the way. Your trekking officially starts from the town of Syabru Besi and it is the starting point of the trekking. From Syabru Besi you will trek to Lama Hotel and your trek proceeds further during which you will be entering beautiful Langtang Valley and discover the adventures of trekking.

Day01: Arrival in Kathmandu:
On the first day of the itinerary, you will arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu where you will be received by our representatives upon your arrival. You will then be transferred to the hotel where you will be shortly briefed about the trekking itinerary. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Drive to Syabru Besi:
On the second day of the itinerary, you will take breakfast in the morning at the Hotel and then embark on seven hours journey through spectacular views of mountains, waterfalls and paddy fields covering along the serpentine road to finally reach Syabru Besi. Before that you will have a brief rest at Dhunche, district headquarters of Rasuwa. Plenty of hotels and lodges are available at Syabru Besi. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 03: Trek to Lama Hotel:
Traversing Bhote Koshi River, we will pursue Langtang River whence the trail elongates through bamboo following the rugged path to Rimche located at 2400m altitude at the edge of Langtang River. Bit further uphill locates Lama Hotel at 2500m altitude where we will be staying overnight.   

Day04: Trek to Langtang Village:
Moving through Gumanechok at Ghoda Tabela, we will clamber the steep path to Langtang valley where we will have the spectacular vista of Lirung before heading to meadow where yaks and goats can be seen grazing. We will stay in Langtang overnight

Day05: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa:
Chasing the inclined path uphill, we will pass through Sindum and Yamphu whence the trekking trail prolongs by the way of Laja Khola to a viewpoint. Enjoying the exquisite views of Kyanjin Gompa and icefall from Lirung and Kinshung, we will drop down to Kyanjin Gompa.

Day06: Rest day in Kyanjin Gompa:
Much needed rest is taken this day whereby we will get rejuvenated and save energy for the trek to be taken in upcoming days. We will enjoy the scenic views of Langtang Lirung, Genjempol and Kenga Himal ranges. Short trek can be arranged to Cheese factory, Buddhist monastery or Tsergo Ri (5033m).

Day 07: Trek to Ngegang Kharka:
Walking across the Langtang Khola, we will ascend the hill and pass through rhododendron and juniper forest to reach to Ngegang Kharka which is meadow with lush green vegetation where we can see yak grazing.  

Day 08: Trek to Keldang via Ganja La Pass:
Negotiating through the rocky trail made slippery by the snow, we will climb Ganja La Pass. Eye feasting the soaring scenery of colossal Langtang Himal and Lirung, we will descend to Yangri Khola Valley after which we will cross stream and pass through meadows to make it to Kaldang where we will stay overnight.

Day 09: Trek to Dukpu:
Lowering further through a long ridge, we will tread uphill and downhill to enter a valley whence the trail prolongs through small settlements to Dukpu.

Day 10: Trek to Tarke Gyang:
The next day, the trekkers will be descending from Melamchi Gaon and make their way towards Melamchi Khola or the River. The journey will make you fresh looking at the freshness of the water and the surrounding beauty. You will then walk along the smooth trail before heading to Tarkegyang at 2490 meters altitude. An old Buddhist Gompa or the monastery situated in Tarkegyang is popular among the visiting tourists.

Day 11: Trek to Sermathang:
From Tarkegyang, the trekkers will make their way towards Sermathang on the seventh day. In between, you will come across the beautiful Sherpa village of Gangyul (2520m) and proceed further through forests and ravines to arrive to Chumik which will stretch further up the hill to the big Sherpa Village of Sermathang.  It is also famous for the views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Rolwaling, Gosainkunda and even Mount Everest. Overnight stay at Sermathang (2610m).

Day12: Trek to Melamchi Pul Bazaar:
The 12th day of the Trek lowers down through the settlements of Nigale, Gyalsha and Raithani Gyang (2290m) which further stretches by the way of pine forests which lead to the large and amazing village of Dubha Chaur which eventually descends to Melamchipul Bazaar, the destination for the day. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day13: Drive back to Kathmandu:
This day marks the end of the Trek. Early in the morning, you will drive back to Kathmandu covering the distance of close to 60 kilometers from Melamchi. It takes around 2 hours for you to reach the Capital upon which you will be transferred back to the hotel where you will be served farewell lunch. The same day you will be transferred to the TIA from where you will return back to your home country.

Day 14: Departure from Kathmandu
On the last day of the itinerary, you will be transferred to the Tribhuvan International Airport from where you will board a flight back to your country.

“Beyond expectations” W e organised our 3 week adventure around Nepal with Dineash from Osho Vision Treks. In our initial meeting he listened to our requests & designed a tour according to our wishes. Our trip included a comfortable Scorpio car, a proficient courteous driver (Dipak) sightseeing around Kathmandu & the Kathmandu Valley, a 2 day rafting trip on the Trishuli river, Pokhara, a soft 2 day trek in the foothills of the Annapurnas, Lumbini, a 3 night 4 day package in the Royal Chitwan National Park, Nagarkot, Dhuulikhel and back to Kathmandu. Our trip included all hotels & breakfasts & full board when rafting & at Chitwan. Most of our accommodation was excellent. Dipak was a great driver, always on time & an extremely safe driver. Dineash rang everyday to check all was well on our trip. We had an absolutely fantastic time in Nepal thanks to Dineash & his team. I would highly recommend his services to one & all.
