Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be received and welcomed by our team members and representatives. From the Airport, you will then be transferred to the Hotel where you will be briefed about the travel itinerary. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and obtain Visa
The next day, you will be completing the formalities like acquiring Chinese Visa for the impending Tibet tour. Once you get the Visa from the authorities, you will then go on a sightsee tour around the Capital visiting the monuments and the temples, the heritages and also the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. After completing the sightseeing tour, you will return back to the Hotel.
Day 03: Fly to Gongar Airport and drive to Lhasa (3660m)
On the third day, you will catch an early morning flight Gongar which will take around an hour to reach the Airport. The short flight will be a memorable one as you will fly past the Himalayan Mountain range and will also get to see the mountain views. After landing at Gongar Airport, you will then drive to Lhasa, the Tibetan Capital which will take around a couple of hours of drive. Overnight stay at a hotel in Lhasa.
Day 04: Sightseeing tour in Lhasa
The next day, you will be enjoying a full day of sightseeing tour in Lhasa, exploring the major sites in Lhasa. You will visit the popular Sera Monastery, the Norbulinga Palace- also known as the summer house of Dalai Lama and the Jokhang Temple- which is a spiritual centre of Tibetan Village. You will then follow the pilgrimage circuit around the ancient streets of the old city near the Barkhor market, enjoy the market area and then return to the hotel in the evening.
Day 05: Second day sightseeing tour in Lhasa
Early in the morning of the third day, you will again embark on a second day sightseeing tour of Lhasa. On this day, you will explore the magnificent Potala Palace and Drepung Monastery. The 17th century Potala Palace offers a breathtaking view across the city and also has private rooms of the Dalai Lama, many large state rooms and chapels. Potala Palace is a great example of ancient Tibetan art and architecture. After spending some time visiting Potala Palace, you will then visit Drepung -one of the largest monasteries in Tibet.
Day 06: Drive to Gyantse (3950m)
On the sixth day, you will drive to Rongbuk Valley from Lhasa. You follow the Friendship Highway by jeep, and cross the Khamba La at elevation of 4794 meters from which there are stunning views across the waters of Yamdrok-tso Lake to the snowy summit of Nazin Kang Sa 7252meters. From there, you will move to Gyantse which is located at around 3950 meters of altitude.
Day 07: Drive to Shigatse (3,900 m)
From Gyantse, we continue the trip to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. It lies in a distance of about 90 kilometers and we reach Shigatse enjoying the scenic drive along the way. Shigatse is a calm and peaceful city which provides excellent opportunity for both relaxation and exploration. Thereafter, exploring the local market we will make a detailed visit to the Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the largest functioning monasteries in Tibet.
Day 08: Sightseeing & drive to Shegar (4050m)
On the 8th day, you will traverse along the Friendship Highway enjoying the picturesque and scenic landscape driving past small town of Lhatse and Gyamtso La pass at 5220m. As the route opens into plains, many monasteries and camps of nomadic herders become visible en route to Shegar. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 09: Drive to Zhangmu (2300m)
The next day, you will be crossing two high passes-- Lalung La Pass at an altitude of 5124 meters and the Shung La at 5200 meters. Along the way, you will also be rewarded with the magnificent landscapes of the surrounding peaks including Shishapangma, Cho Oyu, and Gauri Shankar, among others. Then the journey heads towards the arid Tibetan Plateau of Zhangmu on the Nepalese border of Tibet.
Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu (1337m)
We leave Zhangmu behind on the tenth day and join the Friendship Bridge passing the Bhote Koshi River which marks the Chinese - Nepalese border. After that short drive, we drive and walk to Nepalese Immigration Control in Kodari. After clearing the formalities, we will continue the drive towards Kathmandu which takes around 5 hours. After reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the Hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11: Departure from Kathmandu
On the final day, you will be transferred from the Hotel to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from where you will take a flight back to your home country or to your next favored destination.
